My DH project is going to focus on how Covid-19 have affected people in different situations(money and asset wise). I plan to take an archival approach which will include interviewing multiple people and comparing their experiences. My final product will be an analysis of how this has affected all these different kinds of people. I first became interested in this topic because my dad works at the Federal Reserve and even though he doesn't actually do economics I guess you could say he inspired me.
I was reading awhile back about a trending hashtag that caught my eye -- #Guillotine2020, lol. Celebrities, come now: do you not consider your publicists to be essential workers?? Now is not the time to cry on Insta about how rough it is to eat cake with a nice Chateau Petrus on your cloud couch. Anyone with even a vague understanding of the wealth gap and structural inequality could imagine the way this pandemic was going to expose and exacerbate those fault lines, since these issues are getting all rolled up in the problems of the present. I sense a rising murmur in the sans culottes.
All that to say -- excellent project. Stoked to see what you uncover!
